General Manager

Summary
● The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all Sky Cafe local base operations. A
strong business acumen is essential to this role.
Job Responsibilities
● Manager Job Duties
o Promote and embody the company core values, ensuring all team members are
committed
o Responsible for providing a safe and secure work environment for all employees
o Promote a Safety-First environment within the workplace
o Prepare and deliver monthly forecast for all flight activities and base expenses
o Manage corporate financial expectations to maximize profit to budget
o Participate in annual budget preparation
o Attend regular QBR’s with clients to represent your base
o Participate in RFP’s as it relates to your station
o Manage and review Daily Labour Percentage (DLP) /Revenue performance and
adjust accordingly
o Manage and maintain carrier/company KPI expectations
o Engage in regular employee/leadership engagement meetings
o Ensure employees are in compliance with uniform, appearance, and personal
protective equipment policies (safety toe shoes, uniform cleanliness, and
jewelry)
o Adhere to all policies and follow established procedures
o Participate in required meetings, providing input and recommendations
o Conduct appropriate Operational/Safety briefings
o Conduct training and provide ongoing training support to all staff.
o Perform audits ensuring all employees are following Company policies and
procedures
o Communicate regularly with your Director as it relates to the operation
o Communicate regularly with all airline customers to foster strong relationships
o Attend weekly/bi-weekly/monthly customer engagement meetings
o Prepare and be able to present financial and operational metrics regularly
o Accountable for meeting or exceeding all safety, financial, and operational
objectives
o Assess and develop leadership to maximize potential (succession planning)
o Have a complete understanding of all contract details by carrier and base to
ensure we are maximizing our revenue for each carrier handled.
o Identify high potentials (HIPOTS) for future growth and development within the
company
o Actively participates in the Safety Management System (SMS)
o Ensure GPET incident report (Safety Management System – SMS) is generated
and sent out within 3 hours of occurrence
o Ensure all required training is completed to company standard
o Perform all functions of all operational positions, as needed
o Delegate job duties as required and ensure completion
o Ensure timely execution of all required duties and expectations
o Travel from time to time to alternate locations to provide guidance and support
o Perform other duties as assigned
Work Environment
● Exposure to extreme temperature changes and noise
● May be required to work in a cold room of 4 degrees or less for extended periods of time
● Must be capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis as per
the physical demands analysis for the task at hand
● Regular standing, bending, and lifting during shift
● Must be able to work at heights up to 25 feet or more depending upon type of aircraft
● Able to perform job duties outside in all weather conditions

Requirements
● 5-10 years of leadership experience
● Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain in good standing
● Ability to work on a permanent basis
● Obtain a clear criminal record
● Must obtain necessary airport and/or Transport Canada security clearances and
maintain in good standing
● Must obtain necessary airport vehicle operators permit and maintain in good standing
● Must be able to operate all equipment as pertains to the operation (forklifts, high lift
trucks, catering vans)
● Ability to work within the required time parameters
● Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules
● Must successfully complete airline and corporate specific training programs and
recertification
● Must have the ability to travel as required
● Must have current passport and maintain in good standing
